Use of Radio-nuclides with in-house verification of source strength is advisable due to the accuracy required for maximizing tumor cell death and minimizing healthy tissue damage. Well-type ionization chambers make it easy to establish source calibration procedures. For accreditation of institutes, some countries have made usage of Well Chamber a mandatory requirement.

The Brachytherapy Calibrator has been developed by CD Hightech in collaboration with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, India and is tested at various leading hospitals. The unit can be used for the calibration of Isotopes in both HDR and LDR applications.The source holders provided would enable high reproducibility of the source position in the chamber. Tests conducted at hospitals confirm excellent performance of the unit.
